ODE TO LOUISE
Her name was Louise
Her body was long
Her coat a shiny tan
Her deportment so strong
She was Jane's faithful dog
So close to the ground
She was a proud little dachshund
No lowly bloodhound
She slept on Jane's bed
Or there on the couch
Her posture was good
-she was too short to slouch!
Her elegance was obvious
Her class so very clear
She was a true lady
To Jane she kept near
Her collar was jewelled
So spoilt was she
Great life for a caine
Would you not agree?
They share a long history
-grew up together
She loved Jane so much
She'll love her forever
For Louise grew old
and now she is gone
But to Jane (who loved her)
The memories live on.
